  • Q: CML 可以用預加重驅動很長的基架嗎?
  • A: pre/de-emphasis can enhance signal quality. But it depend on the frequency of signal to drive the longer signal line also.

  • A: it depeneds on the pcb layout, quality of the connector, the driving capability of the device and the system BER requirement. The best way to estimate is simulation.

  • A: There are several factors determine which coupling method is appropriate. First of all, if your serialized data is DC-balance in nature, it doesn't matter which coupling methods is being used. If you data is, however, not DC-balance, you'd better use DC-c

  • A: Possible. But pls be reminded that the receiver threshold is 100mV and the typical VOD of LVDS is 350mV. Too much de-emphasis may violate the receiver threshold requirement
  • Q: If pre-emphasis or de-emphasis is able to open the eye, why do we need EQ?
  • A: Pre/de-emphasis and equalization can be used separately or in conjunction to compensate for media loss. If used only pre-emphasis or de-emphasis and signal is OK, it does not need EQ also.
